Mathias Matos-Kruck
Still enjoying each time he arrives in a new place, Mathias Matos-Kruck has worked in Business Development, Client Services and Project Management with global responsibilities for many employers and clients.
Mathias started advising companies on conducting business abroad in the mid 90s, when he moved from Germany to Singapore and co-founded German Business Consultants – (Asia) Pte Ltd with a focus on facilitating meetings between German and local companies as well as providing language and cultural awareness training. He went on to teach at the Wentsao College for Modern Languages in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and conducted workshops for intercultural communication and education at local colleges and international schools.
After moving to the United States in 2000, Mathias added another cultural dimension to his work, and seminars have been held for American companies planning to do business in East and Southeast Asia, German companies sending their executives from the US to Asia, and German professionals hired by American companies.
In the past few years, Mathias has shifted his focus in Management Consulting to operational effectiveness and business process improvement, both as an independent contractor and as part of a consulting firm. He has worked with clients in financial services including online brokerage, insurance, health care, TV broadcasting, media and advertising. He is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is fascinated by the many ways international project teams can discover that they are more than the sum of their parts.
Mathias holds an M.A. in Chinese Studies and German Literature from the Freie Universität Berlin and has completed the program for Executive IT Management at Columbia University in New York.
